Training Requirements

Upon the completion of one year’s practical training, together with the People and Leadership Skills (with effect from July 2015), a Passed Finalist can apply for membership at AAT Sri Lanka.

In order to complete the prescribed 01 year of practical training for AAT membership, you may select either of the following schemes of training;

  • Non-monitored Training (Experience Record Sheet Method)
  • Monitored Training (Agreement Method)

If you intend to follow the Chartered Accountancy Course at CA Sri Lanka, we at AAT recommend that you follow Scheme B above, as you will be able to claim exemptions from CA Sri Lanka’s practical training requirement under Scheme B mentioned above. (You are required to complete two years of training under monitored training agreement method with AAT to claim exemptions for 01 year of CA Sri Lanka’s practical training requirement).

If you need further clarification, instruction or guidance regarding practical training, please contact the Education and Training Division of AAT on 011-2559669 or email training@aatsl.lk
